As most of you have probably realized, the old homepage for ysfhq.com has been replaced by this new modular site. This reflects a change in the mission of YSFHQ; we are no longer just a forum for talking about YS, but the home of an entire community of flight sim enthusiasts. To better serve this community, the HQ staff have introduced some new features to the site that will make it easier to administrate, update content, and much more. Over the next couple weeks, we will be pushing out much more content than ever before.

All user need to understand that here at YSFHQ we do not condone the violation of someone's copyright. If someone creates something, be it a model, song or aerobatic organisation, they OWN the copyright to that. They have a LEGAL copyright to that, and copying them will be breaking the law.

Any mention of YS-VFAT is banned on this site, YSVFAT broke copyright laws as it did not have permission from the creative owner to use the VFAT brand in their name. Breaking copyright law, no matter how small, can lead to LEGAL actions taken against the user and this site.

YSAS is hosting a New Years Eve Party this Saturday evening.

Scarecrow's server will begin sometime around 7PM CST/8PM EST (check the server list).

Bring party favors. Please post any addons you would like to have on the server in particular so I can have them for you. At around 9PM CST/10PM EST we will have our aerobatic showcase . This will be a fun event and we will be flying on the stock Hawaii map. We hope to have a lot of people online for island hopping and other activities we can take part in.

Teamspeak will be TS3 (YSFHQ official).

All members, please be aware that YSFlight Headquarters and the YSFHQ TS are not run by the same staff, and that WHAT GOES ON ON TEAMSPEAK SHOULD NOT SPILL OVER TO THE FORUM! Recently I've been receiving PMs asking me about banning problems on the YSFHQ Teamspeak Server, and I would like ALL USERS WITH PROBLEMS ON THE TEAMSPEAK SERVER to direct their issues to Fariiniq. YSFlight HQ is not responsible for anything that goes down there - and if you post threads about TS drama, expect those threads to be locked and moved. Thank you!

If you guys haven't had a look at our new YSFHQ homepage, take a look at it! Lots of great improvements have been made, and a lot of really cool stuff is in the works, so stay tuned!

Some cool new features include a "Featured Addon" section that will be regularly updated by our staff, consisting of only the best and freshest handpicked addons from our contributors. If your addon is added, you can definitely consider yourself one of the best. Other cool stuff planned are squad-only download pages, sub-pages for squads and such, and much more.

There are some new rules in play for airlines and ATC's associated with YSFHQ, effective today, October 17, 2011.

For VA's, there is only one. It's listed as Rule #6 on the official topic in the VA forum, but here it is:
6. Any airline found to be engaged in hacking or abusive behavior on YSFHQ, or which allows its members to engage in such behavior, will be permanently disqualified from certification, period.
This is meant to address some recent issues that have come up.
